Premium Dog Boarding & Training — Just Off Hwy 22

Train for the Hunt. Hunt for the Story.

At Lone Pine Sporting Dogs, we believe a true hunting dog is more than instinct; it’s obedience, trust, and composure forged through experience.

Our field programs are built on that balance: clear structure, fair guidance, and real-world exposure that brings out your dog’s natural ability without confusion or pressure.

Each dog trains daily across our private fields, ponds, and upland terrain near Cremona, Alberta, learning to think calmly, work independently, and respond reliably.

We don’t rush progress or rely on shortcuts; instead, we teach understanding, steadiness, and purpose.

Whether your goal is a confident gun dog, a reliable field partner, or a composed “meat dog” for the marsh, our programs develop dogs ready for the hunt and steady enough to share the story after.

Balanced training. Honest communication. Real results in the field.

Our Sporting Dog Training Path

We offer a complete progression of field programs tailored to pointing, versatile, and retrieving breeds:

  • Gun Dog Foundations (4–6 Weeks) — Bird & gun introduction, obedience, and field confidence for all hunting breeds.

  • Upland Foundations (6–8 Weeks) — Started dog level training: quartering, range, steady to flush, retrieve, and backing.

  • Advanced Gun Dog / Point Dog (8–10 Weeks) — Advanced control: steady to shot/fall, honoring, retrieve to hand, and blind work.

  • Waterfowl Foundations (4–6 Weeks) — “Meat dog” level training: marking, blind retrieves, steadiness, and duck search confidence.

  • Handler Coaching — One-on-one field instruction for owners training their own dogs.

  • Tune-Up Program (1–2 Weeks) — Short-term board & train refresher for returning dogs or pre-season conditioning.

Each dog trains individually, progressing at their own pace with personal attention and fair, structured sessions.

Bird & Field Fees

All field programs include pigeons for foundational work.

Additional live birds — Chukar: market price and Ducks: market price, are available for advanced sessions, hunt-dead drills, and live retrieves.

These costs ensure access to quality birds while maintaining ethical use and high training standards.
