Whether you have a young sporting dog headed for the field or a family pet needing a strong start, we provide expert board & train that builds confidence, obedience, and real-world skills. All programs are designed to give your puppy the foundation they need, so you can enjoy a well-mannered companion at home or in the field.
Puppy Programs at Lone Pine Sporting Dogs
Puppy Gun Dog Foundations
Short-term board & train for young sporting dogs and family pets. We handle the “hard stuff” most owners are nervous to start themselves: puppy obedience, leash manners, e-collar introduction, bird introduction, gun introduction, and water introduction. This gives your dog a strong, confident foundation so you can comfortably continue the training at home.
Recommended length: 4–6 weeks
Pricing:
- Dogs under 6 months: $850 per week (+ GST) — intact OK, no extra fee
- Dogs over 6 months: $750 per week (+ GST)
European Puppy Import Bridge
Add-on service for US breeders importing European bloodlines. We provide airport pickup at YYC, full board & train using our Puppy Gun Dog Foundations program, and weekly video/photo updates. The US breeder handles all export paperwork and broker coordination directly. We assist as needed with information for the broker.
Recommended length: 60–90 days (until ~6 months old for US import)
Pricing:
Core Training: $850 per week (under 6 months) or $750 per week (over 6 months)
Flat Import Bridge Fee: $2,500 (one-time)
Optional: US export carrier coordination +$450
Puppy Foundations Program
Short-term board & train focused on building core obedience, manners, and confidence in young puppies. We cover basic commands, leash skills, crate training, and socialization in a structured, positive environment. Ideal for puppies that need a solid everyday foundation before moving on to more advanced work.
Recommended length: 2–4 weeks

- Dogs under 6 months: $850 per week (+ GST) — intact OK, no extra fee
- Dogs over 6 months: $750 per week (+ GST)
Puppy Academy (Day Training)
Daily Monday–Friday training program for puppies that do not need full boarding. Your puppy spends the day with us receiving structured lessons in obedience, manners, socialization, and basic skills, then returns home each evening. Perfect for owners who want consistency without overnight stays.
Recommended length: 2–3 weeks
Pricing:
$1,200 for 2 weeks or $1,600 for 3 weeks (+ GST)
Private Puppy Lessons
Hands-on private lessons where you and your puppy learn together. We coach you through obedience, manners, and basic skills in one-on-one sessions so you can build a strong relationship and continue training confidently at home.
Recommended length: 3 or 5 sessions
Pricing:
$495 for 3 sessions or $795 for 5 sessions (+ GST)
